When it comes to making money online in Kenya, Freelancing is one of the coolest ways I've mentioned since you get paid for a service you've provided almost as soon as the project has been executed.

It is one of those online jobs you can start from day 1 with little or no start up capital other that what you already know how to do.

1. Graphic design: This involves being able to make use of computer software in creating artistic works like logos, graphics and images that are appealing to people. It requires creativity and takes time. Some popular graphic tools include Corel draw, Photoshop and Fireworks.

2. Writing: This is a skill that involves being able to compose words into sentences and form a sort of essay which can be descriptive, narrative or expository. It can involve unique article writing, article rewriting, story writing or content writing. Once should be knowledgeable about the subject or topic required. It requires computer typing skills. Most Kenyans find it easier to offer freelance writing services. It also requires being able to use good English grammar.

3. Website design: This is the ability to design websites. A Website is like the basic face of the internet. It is what people see and use. Different websites have different designs and functionality. A freelancer who engages in this work has to be able to use popular software like Dreamweaver, Front page or others. He should also know how to write basic html. In some cases, hardcore web programming may also be required.

4. Data entry: This has to do with adding data in form of text or numbers to a database or template designed to store data. It may involve inputting data from one program or software to another manually. It requires typing skills and accuracy of input.

There are other kinds of freelancing jobs available to Kenyans and you just have to focus on the ones you are good at and specialize at it. The more jobs you execute, the more your online profile grows and the more your network of clients would keep growing.
